Well i finally got my ping irons that i've wanted for a long time (ping eye 2's) not everyone's cup of tea i know but i've always wanted a set of pings so im very happy with myself. I was wondering if anyone else in the golf monthly world got the clubs they've always wanted (old or new) if so are they living up to your expectations? :D

Yes, some Callaways and yes, they are as good as I expected.

Ever since trying some X-12s years ago. Not everyone's cup of tea but ridiculously easy to play with.

I remember when I was a junior, I dreamed of having top of the range new gear. I used an old set of Howson irons with a couple of inches cut off and ladies Fazer woods. I think myself lucky to have all my gear now. If I had to pick the one club I always desired the most, it's the Scotty, love it.

After tinkering with a couple of sets Wilson Di7's and Wilson Fg5 Tour's iv settled on Cobra's S2's....Like the OP. There probably not everyones cuppa but i love them....There only 4 rounds old but iv taken to them quite well....There isnt one of them that i struggle to hit which i suppose is the name of the game with Irons...Im saving at the moment for an 11.5 deg S2 driver and also the 5 Wood just to have the full set.

Hey Gman, most guys usually wait 30-40 years of their golfing careers before finally getting their hands on the hallowed plasticky rubber grips of the mythical Ping Eye 2 (tm) irons.

Ive never wanted an older set of clubs but when the AP2s were initially showcased, I had to get a set.

My Ping Anser putter was my dream club when growing up. I used to see lots of people with it when I was a caddy. I finally managed to buy one and I've never felt like changing it since.

Coveted the TM TP's and promised myself a set if I got to 10. However I hit them at a TM demo and couldn't get on with them. Got offered a set for a ridiculous price and thought nothing ventured and I'm more than happy with them. They are everything I want in a club. I have to say (and whisper it) but had these not come along when they did the I15's were on the horizon. Should I ever decide to swap again I'd definitely look at the Ping range at the time

Had taylor made super steel irons. I always wanted these as a guy I caddied for had them. I used these for 3 years but fell in love with the tm 09 burners when they come out. I brought them but if I'm honest on the demo I was hitting Wilson di9s alot better

I would love some yururi wedges, they look fantastic! but they are a bit outta my price range for now!!

I would also consider changing my tm tp's to some i15's, tried them a few times and the dispersion is far less than it is with my tm's, just seem to be able to be more consistant with them, but as i paid top whack for tm's when they first come out, they are in the bag for a while yet!! lol

Got my MP-58's and loving every minute of them - even when I put a crap swing on them.
It might go sideways but- Oh the feel..........

Ping Eye 2s are great. When I first started out, I did a lot of research and these kept being put forward as a classic iron with bags of forgiveness. Took my time on ebay and got the set, 3-SW, for just over £100. Superb clubs. They're now my back up set and do need regripped but I'll never sell them. So well balanced for a 20 year old club.

I'd love a set of the Callaway X back prototype irons (as used by Ernie & Lefty). However, I'm hitting my irons so well I won't be changing them until they wear out.

X12s were great clubs, I used to love mine. When I decided to change I tried the newer models, can't remember what that was at the time but they weren't a patch on the X12s so I ended up in Ping land.
