One of my most annoying Americanism is when people miss out words.
I'm playing golf Tuesday
Anyone know the weather
In cinemas Friday.
Obviously, all the rest like shopping mall, store, movie etc
Is it just me?

These aren't even that bad.

For me it's 'Michael Phelps has the winningest record at the Olympics'.

Golf wise "Double Eagle" always bugs me.

In work there has been an increasing trend by our American cousins to use the term "space". Ie, "in this space" or, "in the product management space". I feel a little sick every time I hear it.

Math, there is an s on the end. That annoys the heck out of me.

Sodder, everyone else calls it Solder

I agree with the missing out words point by Bob

When I was at school in Scotland, maths and arithmetic were different subjects.
It was a few years ago though

It was a good thing. Arithmetic was the stuff we all need to know to get through life - maths the more advanced stuff that we didn't. We all had to do arithmetic O-level but not maths o-level. I'm of the belief that because maths sounds complex many kids just shut off their minds from it - and as a result struggle to learn the basic of arithmetic. They should be separated out as we had it way back then when Napier's Bones were the height of school computational sophistication.
