More referee madness!!

Seems crazy but the way that player tacked the guy round the neck could have led to a serious injury. Feel no sympathy as the pr**k desrved it for wasting everyone's time, but the player certainly relished violently throwing the streaker to the floor.

The ref was right by the letter of the law, but doesn't mean I agree with his decision.

Absolutely crap decision, I generally try to be on the referees side but that one needed a bloody good kick up the khyber.

I was taking the pee (nicely) out of a local ref who is a customer this afternoon when I had just seen this and, wouldn't you just know it, he said that the sending off was "spot on".

They live in a different world these guys!!

I think they all need to take a look at themselves, regardless of wether the correct descision was made the stewards didnt look as if they had much interest in catching him, so someone had too!!

What's the player sent off for? Is it violent conduct?

Should Brian Clough have been sent off all those years ago when he gave that lad who invaded the pitch a clip round the ear?

That's the rule - it can be violent conduct against anyone, player, official, fan, spectator dog etc etc to be sent off

watched about 5 mins of the real Manchester game tonight (more than enough). in that time the ref gave probably three or four free kicks and a yellow (actually deserved for blatant obstruction), but he was being taken in left, right and centre. In one incident Popov jumped over a defenders lazily outstretched leg, clearing it by 4 ft, then crumbled to the ground as if his legs had been scythed from under him.
