Afternoon all,
The May issue has gone to the printers, so we're now turning our attention to our June issue even though there was a heavy frost on the motor this morning.
Two questions for you as usual - first up, which big non men's 'pro tour' event will hold most interest for you this year, and then, when did you last put a new golf glove into play?

Just to clarify - 'other' in the top question can't include any major men's tour professional events (Majors, WGCs, flagship events etc)
 
Always enjoy the Solheim Cup. Great viewing.

As for the glove, had mine about 3 months. Mind you, the course was closed with snow for about half that time! :D
 
Cannot stand the Solheim Cup - think it's got to a stage now that replicates the bad Ryder Cup years of 1991 and 1999 in OTT patriotism from the USA team. Plus the pace of play at the last SC was just ridiculous - from what I can remember some of the matches were taking well over 5 hours to complete. Have always enjoyed the Walker Cup and getting the opportunity to judge just how close the amateur and professional games are with regard to ability.
 
For me i'll be following the brabazon trophy at burnham and berrow. I'm gonna pop down for a day and check out the cream of english amateurs.
 
I like the Solheim Cup. I think the US in particular are starting to slowly get the message both in the Ryder and the Solheim versions that there is a line and that supporting your side and being patriotic is one thing and being a "golf zealot" and booing the opposition and applauding any bad shots well and truely crosses that line. To be honest I don't really follow any of the Amateur scene and it doesn't really interest me
 
Walker Cup and Am Championship.

I would have taken a trip to Royal Aberdeen but unfortunately it's our inaugural Scratch Open that weekend so I will be involved with that.
 
PGA Cup for me, followed closely by the Womens Open.

Caddied for Paul Simpson (West Berkshire GC) in the 2009 event at The Carrick. Fantastic event between the Golf Pro's of GB&I and the Americans,in a Ryder Cup format. This years event takes place in California at this course http://www.cordevalle.com/
 
We have 3 playing Pro's associated with our club - one who is our ex club pro who now plies a living on the Senior's tour and two trying to make a living on a couple of the "lesser" tours. As I know them, I naturally follow their progress rather than the ones you listed.

Gloves?? I only buy winter gloves (yes I wear one on each hand :o :o
 
Solheim Cup for me. Good to have a bit of good natured banter and intriguing contests; Laura Davies and Kristina Kim, Mel Reid and Natalie Gulbis. Assuming any/all make their respective teams.

Recently tried a Hirzl kangaroo skin glove along with a FJ Sci-Flex. That kangaroo skin is seriously tough but incredibly soft. Weird having a black palm and white back though.

as i will not pay large amounts of money to sky evry month i would say the womans open as it is covered by the bbc [for the moment anyway}.
 
Other than the majors, as I too won't pay for sky, I enjoy the PGA from Wentworth and the Scottish Open as both have been on the Beeb in recent years.
 
I'll watch a bit of whatever golf is on if there's nothing else to watch but can't say I really care about the outcome, especially if it's from America and doesn't finish till stupid o'clock.
