The current strain appears not to be very transmissible, and a large proportion of cases seen in various countries have affected men who (ahem) with men. That is probably because of close contact rather than STI per se, but either way, not very transmissible.

If you see someone covered with pox, swerve wide of them, just to be on the safe side.
