Moment of madness = broken clubs!!

As Captain of our society this year i brought in 1 shot deduction the following game if you was seen throwing a club which happened 4 times early in the season and 1 player would have won the following week for only his shot deduction to put him into 2nd which he accepted gracefully:)

But main reason i brought it in is because we travel around each week to alot of private courses and last thing we wanted was to get any complaints about our society and plus it doesnt look good seeing club helicopter through the air and if you cant hit golf ball in right direction then club throwing probably not any better and putting others at risk ;)

i done it once duffed a shot took a swing at my bag with my club and bent the shafts in my 8'9'pw £90 later and 3 new shafts a very expensive lesson learned . i find it easier just to laugh or mutter to myself

Many years ago I used to play very aggressively and I was very competitive; often banged a few clubs into the ground. I had to give up the game for a while because my young wife had a sudden stroke and then I had to look after her and two young children and keep a job.

She died after get more and more poorly over 10 years and I took up the game again and now I just enjoy playing because there's nothing that annoys me anymore - a bit extreme but it does alter your priorities for the better.

I do see other golfers getting uptight and I feel sorry for them that they should worry about something so insignificant as a game of golf which is supposed to be a bit of social fun !!!

My advice to you angry golfers is to Chill out - your golf will improve.

Lost a putter head at Greencastle links when I was a nipper. My dad left me at the putting green while he went for a round. I went looking him after about 2hours. Hitting the putting as I went searching for him. One big swipe and the head flew off into long rough. A quick 5minute search and off I went with only the shaft.

Neither of us were impressed when I eventually found him.

Wouldn't dream of breaking a club in anger.

Pretty sure theres not a golfer in the world who hasnt thrown a club, a mate of mine throws at least 5 a round yet has never broken one!

I haven't thrown a club

Also never seen any of my regular playing partners throw a club

Ive never lost my temper on a golf course.

I never ever swear on a golf course.

I have never thrown a club.

Golly gosh i must be a really good person :D

I don't throw clubs either!

Why on earth people just can't accept that the game is frustrating and that they will hit some, or many, duff shots in a round and accept it is beyond me, and that acting like a 5 year old just makes them look stupid. Those of you who throw clubs or wrap them round a tree don't care anymore about their game than I do, they just pay more to reshaft their clubs, money that could be spent on lessons that would potentially stop them having the need to do it so much in the future!

That's true that is.

Even at SAOL in the Kilgrimol and you wasn't having the best day and I never heard any foul language from you at all

I've broken clubs, lost them up trees, etc.

I really want to have a round with you. I don't smash things, I just laugh when I/Partners duff it. Which unfortunately annoys some even more. If I saw someone loose a club up a tree I definitely couldn't keep it in, I'm giggling thinking about it!
