Ok so I'm new to the game and made my first boo boo, I was having a nightmare from the 1st and after hitting yet another bad shot I have no broken my driver and PW, driver is X2 Hot and Pw is same both with stiff shafts, any ideas how much to get these repaired, I am really annoyed at myself for this but this game is sooooo frustrating lol

I feel your pain brother. Haha but bare with it. I suggest going to your local pro and he should be able to order new shafts and fit them and while your there with him.......book a LESSON!!!! :)

How did you end up breaking two clubs ?

I think first thing will be to understand that we are amateurs so bad shots will happen and if you react to everytime there is a bad shot then your clubs will be gone within thr first 9 holes

Your local pro should be able to replace the shaft in both clubs

Thanks bro, I've got myself booked in for a lesson tomorrow! I'm usually decent around the course but today was an absolute ball ache! Don't know if it was weather or me but something was wrong from the start! I've handed my club into pro shop he's gonna see if he can fix it or if it needs to go to callaway, hopefully get a price back soon!

Your not a proper golf till you've snapped a club in anger...( I've snapped 3-4 clubs all wedges)

H'mm!

I used to occasionally play wit 'tantrum Tom' - as many others refused to play with him because of them - and laugh at his antics.

I know a guy who had a 'best mate' who would throw a wobbly if a shot 'didn't go to plan' and couldn't stand seeing it.

Expensive lesson, hopefully not repeated!

Oh, and was out with an extremely pleasant guy at Muirfield who quietly asked on 18 (our 9th) if he could borrow a Driver - he'd done the same to it on a previous hole! Somewhat surreal as none of us saw it happen or even had a hint that it had, or was likely to have, happened!

I have never broken a club in anger or even by accident- Golf really shows someones true character

I've broken clubs, lost them up trees, etc. it happens. It's not big, clever, what ever, but some times it all gets a bit much. It'll cost you, but every thing is mend able.

My gut instinct is probably the same as yours and I've snapped my fair share of clubs. However I was playing tennis recently with a friend who was just starting playing again after a stroke, I hit the luckiest net cord against him, naturally I put my hand up and apologised, he walked up to the net, smiled and said 'it doesn't matter, I am just happy to be playing again'. That does seem to put things into perspective for me.

Only club I've snapped was against a tree while playing a shot. Knew it would happen, but I was playing the 14th already on 30points so was in attack mode - went on to win so was worth it but was without a 5 iron for a couple of weeks.
I do throw the odd tantrum though, tends to be when I've played good golf all morning then the wheels fall off. If I go out and I know its just going to be one of them days I'm generally quite accepting of it and enjoy the company I have on the day.

I'd just say chill, it's supposed to be an enjoyable way to spend your precious leisure time, it isn't your job. And if you are not enjoying it then do something you will enjoy. Life's too short and there's usually plenty of hassle, frustration and anger elsewhere in life, so you don't need it when you do something for fun.

Yep the same - never snapped a club or thrown a club

Can't understand it - have seen people have proper paddys on the course - embarrassing to watch

The only club I've ever broken was when I first started playing as a youngster, and I had borrowed some old clubs out the shed.

The heads were quite heavy, so god knows what they were made from, but I remember hitting a 7 iron - quite a good strike at the time (I was about 10 years old), and I just remember this PING noise.......... low and behold, I never found the head to it!

Watched a mate in slow motion who's been playing for around 18 months and always says 'hes so unlucky' hit the top of his bag after ANOTHER poor shot and i mean it was just a tap on the top not a full blooded smash and didnt think he had done any damage till the next tee when he pulled the driver head out minus shaft  and further inspection a damaged iron he hit it with so costly lesson been learnt or so he thought......................2 weeks later his clubs along with couple other sets were stolen from cars and werent insured Doooooh
