Mizuno MP53

Does anybody know what is hapening to the MP53, is it discontinued, not showing on the Mizuno web site, but the prices are still well over £500 fr these clubs?

Did they not get to the end of their two year cycle and were superseded ? Do a search on the Mizuno Forum and that may give you more details.

When I got fitted for my irons in Jan the pro told me they were no longer made but you could still pick up old stock.

Have to say I don't know if this is correct but he told me they were replaced with the 825 pros.

Didn't the MP59 supercede them?

yes maybe DCB, they came out in 2011, possibly the jpx 825 pro is the replacement.Was thinking of getting a set, just wondered if 6months from now they wll be in the bargain bin for £299.

Don't think you'll be getting them for 299 for a while yet. They are a seriously good iron, very under rated!!! But yes the are discontinued.

59's replaced the 58's
The 53's were sort of dropped - they had 53's, JPX and JPXPro, 3 sets covering an area that only really needs 2
They basically combined the 53's and the JPXPro in the 825 Pro to simplify the range.

53 replaced the 52, very similar design.

I wouldn't say that the 825 is similar to the 53. More forgiving, bigger sole and top line, with a larger cavity.

Discontinued, very good iron if you get the right shaft, I'm not surprised they're still selling for a high price.
