Mizuno fitting??

I would definitely think about a 3rd opinion. Are you collecting the clubs or are they being delivered. If its collection I'd definitely want to be hitting on an impact board to double check again before I took them away. Seems very strange how much variance there is between Mizuno and Titleist.

are we not being a bit too precise here? surely we can adapt to a certain club length/loft etc? afterall the human body can adjust easier for a 1" swing difference or slight loft discrepency (please feel free to shoot me down in flames)

not wanting to be too negative here and when I do eventually buy a new set of irons I too would get cf'ed :), unless we want to turn pro or are pro then surely off the shelf clubs would be more than adequate?

I have just bought some Footjoy dryjoys and with the heel, padding and new spikes they must make me at least half an inch taller than before. Not sure my Mizuno's which were 1/4 inch longer than standard will cope. :D :D :D :D

G1BBO, where away in Stevenage - I work there.

However to the question, surely the point of cf is to eliminate the need to adjust so that what you have suits you at your most relaxed. adjusting implies added tension.

several, many with a society at work plus others with mates (Aston, Panshangar, Chesfield, Royston, Brickendon, Mid Herts, Welwyn, RickG's gaff, there's more)

According to Ethan on an earlier posting there is quite a lie difference from Mizuno to Titleist on standard clubs. That could almost take into account 2 degrees of the 4 degree differrenc.

I hit lots of balls today with a set the cluns in my specification but one degree flat instead of two degrees and when I swung well the ball went long with a great flight and a very slight fade. The beauty was that I completely eradicated the pull hook that I occasionally get with the TM Burners. Also, as the new clubs are forged, at least there is room to bend tham if necessary, although I am convinced they will be right and I can't wait for tmy new Christmas present.

I think to an extent you are right Gibbo, but, if you want custom clubs then its obvious you are going to get them with your spec for shafts, grips, lofts, lies and heads. For most of us our swings vary shot to shot but custom clubs will help make your best shots better and your worst shots less bad than off the shelf clubs. I certainly have seen an improvement with the demo iron over my current 6 iron. That must help me get my handicap down in the longer term

was talking about this with the friendly local por last night who also does club fitting and he said that the manufacturers had resisted any standardisation on club length.

apparently there was an alternative option floated some years ago that was based around a coloured dot on the club itself that indicated the "standard" length for each club and you would therefore have a visual aid that would allow you to see immediately whether the club was the standard length for that iron or longer/shorter. apprently is was vetoed eventually as the parties couldnt agree what colout the dot would be....
