I have posted about my recent Mizuno fitting and troubles deciding what clubs to buy.
When I was at the fitting last week, one of the first things that the guy did was to measure my arm length and commented that I have quite long arms (I am 6ft tall)and that he might go for slightly longer shafts. I thought this strange at the time but we moved on so quickly I didn't really gather my thoughts.
Today I was using a Tileist club in the spec recommended by Mizuno to see what I thought of them. The Pro said that they didn't look right at standard length, 2 degrees upright. He did the measurements and it turns out that I should have 1" shorter shafts and, in Titleist should be 2 degrees flat. Going 1" down the shaft of the titleist with my preferred 5.5 project x shaft I stonked the ball with little dispersion.
The upshot - I think Mizuno got it wrong and I now have a set of Titleist AP2 clubs being ordered tomorrow
