Well i'm all booked up for my fitting at New malden and I can't wait, I'm booked in for the 26th and i'm looking forward to the new Swing DNA it matches the shaft to my swing type and it's new to Mizuno, I'll let you know the full details when i've finished.

Phil.

I use to live a few minutes from World of Golf and it has always been a top class place to go and practice and especially to get fitted. Great service competitive prices and when my mate went and got his Mizzy's about three years ago they gave him a free range card with 10 credits on as a thank you

Wow swing DNA, I like the sound of that. What is it? more info?

I had a fitting at Mizuno for my MP52's. It was such a good day. There customer service is exceptional.

It measures the following;

•Clubhead Speed: How fast the clubhead and shaft are moving during the swing.
•Tempo: How quickly the player transitions from the backswing to the downswing.
•Shaft Toe Down: A measure of the bowing of the shaft in a downward directtion during the downswing.
•Shaft Kick Angle: The amount of shaft forward bending during the downswing motion.
•Release Factor: How and when the clubhead and shaft are releasing during the downswing.

I've had a go with the shaft optimizer a week ago. It seems like it's a good base point for the dynamic part of the fitting. I can't remember all of my numbers unfortunately but my clubhead speed with a 6 iron was 95mph. I was told I have a hard load from the top of the down swing so it recommended me - Dynamic Gold X100, Project X 6.5 and KBS Tour X. From there I tried all 3 shafts and decided on the Project X. Gave me the best ball flight and spin rate.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience and your new shiny sticks.

I went to the Carnoustie golf shop who have a Mizuno fitting cart and a Vector Launch Monitor ,they gave me club to hit 3 balls which a digital readout on it ,after hitting the 3 balls the guy put the info into a Mizuno software program which told me which 4 shafts were suited to my swing.
After trying the MP52's and 62's with all 4 shafts i went for the MP52'S with the Project X 5.5 shaft these gave the best flight, spin rates etc, was there for an hour and cost nothing just the price of my irons which they had in stock.

I had my current clubs fitted with new shafts and grips at Nevada Bobs in Wilmslow. They will do the lie/loft once they have been reshafted by Mizuno as the lie angle you need can vary slights depending on what shaft you put in. Hope this helps.

So did the shaft optimiser give you a selection of three shafts that could perform equally as well or did it rate them best, second best, third best..etc??
Also what kind of information did it give you??

Only asking because I got fitted 3 Months ago for my 68's and just wondering what I missed out on. It doesn't seem too hard to me to put you at any three of those shafts if you had a high club head speed and ball speed. Not sure how revolutionary a shaft optimiser is if it gives you a selection of three extra stiff shafts with little data to look at.

I'm not sure if it rates them from best to second best etc. but it works on a few factors in your swing. You take 3 swings and it works out how hard you load the shaft, your tempo, release point as mentioned by someone earlier. From these 3 you just demo whatever shaft/head combo you want until you get the launch & spin & feel you are happy with.

I didn't think I had the clubhead speed to for the Project X 6.5's at first but I was told that I load the shaft quite a lot. One of the pros who was fitting me has the same shaft, his 6 iron speed is around 104mph which is 9mph more than mine but I load the shaft more thus putting me into the 6.5 and not the 6.0 as I expected.

I'm sure if you had a proper Mizuno fitting then nothing will of been missed. It wouldn't cost you anything to have a go with the swing optimizer if you just want to double check.
