Miniest of mini meets

I was invited to play 9 holes after work last night by Jimboo a local golfer.

We met at his course, Etchinghill and played the 9 hole course, a good move as it was blowing a hooley and the 18 holer is on the side of a hill and we would have been blown off it.

James hadn't played with anyone much other than his dad and was keen to see how his game and etiquette rated. I can only say that he played a really good game with no real weaknesses, he could drive, chip putt etc and he was a real nice guy to spend a few hours with. I have suggested that he should look to play a forum meet if there is one close by as he is clearly ready for a serious game - just be careful that he doesn't get given too high a handicap!

Really enjoyed it, thanks Chris - you played some really nice shots too, beautiful pitch on the 18th to within 3 ft. TBH it was really nice to get out and play someone new. I also realised that I miss that competitiveness I used to get years ago when I played snooker in all the leagues. I think a few matches would definitely make me a stronger player - if I can find the time!

I'll certainly be up for a forum meet, as long as you guys don't mind if I don't have an official handicap.
