It'll be interesting to see if someone takes it on, maybe try and create a club that's above Royal Ascot but below the Sunningdale etc. From memory they tried to be too high-end when it opened.

Apparently Maidenhead GC have sold their land as 1500 houses to be built. They buy Mill Ride. Presume they will all move over to there

One of the guys at the club was talking about this at the weekend, as he lives over that way. Hopefully the same thing won't happen to the Mill Ride members that happened to the members at Dummer, when that was bought by Basingstoke GC (as I heard that the Dummer members got pretty shafted)

Maidenhead GC wanted to buy Winter Hill when John Lewis decided to sell, would have meant the course would have closed whilst changes were made and all existing member kicked out. However JL ended selling it to GetGolfing (apparently for less than Maidenhead offered) who kept the course open and allowed its members continued membership.
