It's is just pathetic. I was watching Friday night on the PGA website. Mickelson and partners had teed off and where walking down the fairway and a fan shouted 'get in the hole phil'. WALKING DOWN THE FAIRWAY!!!!!

the absolute worst has to be the 16th at Scottsdale. there the worst elements are not just welcomed but are encouraged, and goaded into even greater excesses by some of the competitors. at least one put on a local football shirt just for the hole - talk about lack of respect for your competitor and the game.

Well, I didn't have a bad day. A very nice one, in fact. However, I will apologise to Basher publicly.
Getting back to the Americans, I like them. I've played lots of golf with them and enjoyed it. Golfers like Nicklaus and Palmer have done so much for the game. Where would our Open be if Trevino, Watson, Hogan and company hadn't included it in their programme? Why so much Yankee-bashing on this board?

It isn't the players that get a bashing, it is the idiots in the crowd.
I like playing golf with the yanks, and will be doing just that in a couple of weeks time. However, they too get annoyed by continual shouts of you da man, and get in the hole. It ruins the coverage.

As far as the yanks in general are concerned, well,........I dont hate them, just find them a smidge irritating to be honest.
However, they can be refreshingly open too, if thats the right word.
