afternoon all

I have just had an email from Peter McEvoy which he's asked me to post on the forum...

Dear Golf Monthly forum members

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you for attending yesterday’s inaugural Golf Monthly PowerPlay Golf event at The Grove. I think everyone will agree that The Grove proved to be a fantastic host venue and as always the course was in pristine condition. It gave me great pleasure to be amongst such an enthusiastic group of golfers and from what I could see walking around the course, everyone appeared to be relishing the strategy of when to take their PowerPlay’s as well as tackling the other unique challenges that the PowerPlay Golf format presents. From the scores, I can see some managed this better than others!

As I mentioned on the driving range, we are totally committed to growing the PowerPlay Golf format around the world as we firmly believe that this exciting, risk-reward adaptation of the traditional game will help grow the game of golf by encouraging more frequent play from existing members as well as attracting new visitors to golf clubs. We already have over 300 golf courses offering PowerPlay Golf in the UK, so I would encourage all the Forum members to speak to their club secretary or manager and get them to sign up as a PowerPlay venue, so fellow members can experience the unique, 2-Flag format that they got a taste of yesterday.

best regards
Peter

I'll add my thanks to those of Peter for everyone who made the effort to come along - as ever good to see some old faces and meet some new ones too. I had a lot of fun so I was delighted to read the other PPG thread and hear that you all did too.

Pics and a report on the site to come early next week and a feature in the November coverdated issue out early October
