Mental Problems

Just go out and enjoy your golf your not out there to punish yourself!! Try and take 5 a hole if you are comfortable with thinking about your score and find having a target helps.

Easier said than done though! :D

This is what I do. I aim to average five a hole so I feel that I can get my round back together even after a bad hole. I also agree with the comments on the bob rotella book. Found it said very little and whilst there are the occasional good comments on the correct state of mind to be in there is no comment on how to achieve it. I know that I should forget my bad shots that much is obvious but how do I go about doing that?

Your handicap is based on a stableford adjustment anyway (CONGU system). If you play medal to get a cut, and not to win, the key is not to explode after one bad hole. If you get a 12 on a hole, so what, you can't win the medal. As long as you can cap it at that, and then carry on playing well, you will still get cut if you shoot more than 36 points.

Just view all medals as stableford and you will be fine.

That's a great philosophy!! I never looked at it that way before......will definitely be in a different frame of mind in the next medal.
Thanks for the tip :)
