We‘ve had a Tempur mattress for a good 10 yrs now. I wouldn’t ever return to a normal one, the Tempur is so much better for my back. I find when I’m away now I have to keep turning at night to reduce body pains. Some say memory foam mattresses are hotter, but I wouldn’t say there’s much difference, it’s just a different feel.
The only downside is that anything done on your knees is a little harder ;)

100% will never go back sleep so much better, not sure what jay last sentence is about

Looking to change the mattress & considering a memory foam one.

Any experiences good or bad, any recommendations?

Thanks.

Consider memory gel foam

Wish we had got

Keeps you 2 degrees colder .. not important I thought but memory foam keeps the heat in so can get hot in there so a gel one would nicely keep you cooler whilst covers keep you warm

when we bought our first memory foam mattress it was solid, the sides of the mattress let no air in so you got warmer and warmer and warmer. It got uncomfortable. They then started having mesh sides which let air in, they then started putting holes in the foam to let air in. The idea was to let your body heat the foam but not overheat.
The therma phase has phase change gel crystals and copper infusion which is designed to stop the body from overheating.

We've had a Tempur for 16 years. It's well past being due for replacement. But like an old pair of comfy shoes we can't quite bring ourselves to change it.

When we do it will be for another.

Used to be very firm, now a lot softer? It happens, I hear, although I wouldn't know.
Its a lot softer but still gives support for the whole body. It felt a bit odd for a few nights, but I'd not swap back now.

And no, Tashy, dont think we got a mattress protector with it. Just ordered what was in the box. It's got a cover that zips off (and so can go in the wash) but pretty sure its just an ordinary cover.

Our head of domestic operations recently bought 2 new mattresses. Both are very good.

A Simba hybrid.... memory foam pocket sprung in our room. Very good indeed.
If you mention our recommendation, you get two free memory foam pillows.. buy online but it is effectively a free trial and it us returnable. (You have to mention "Donna Miller, Chepstow!!")

The guest room has an Emma Memory Foam...very good too! Similarly you buy online and it's returnable.
As a coincidence wife decided to go for the Simba Hybrid Pro, remembered your post just as I got to the payment screen and saw the “refer a friend” box, mentioned your wife, got the pillows, enjoy the voucher.

Many thanks.(y)

Paul, is the payment screen the first time the refer a friend box comes up? And did they offer a mattress removal service? thanks.

No mattress removal service offered as I believe this one will come in a box, refer a friend (Paul Murray...Cough Cough) only came up on payment screen. Delivery varies by postcode, earliest for me was Dec 9th. Free delivery mon - fri, £20.00 extra if you want weekend.

Thanks Paul. Unfortunately neither you or Ian will benefit; due to a work benefits scheme, I could take the free pillows offer or a bigger discount, so took the money, sorry boys. :)
