I joined my local golf club from April to the 31st of August as I'm a student. I played at least once every week. But now my membership has obviously expired and I'm gutted! Really want to get out on the course but it's quite expensive for a single round :/ I still have about 2 weeks until I start my 2nd year of University and I can't go and play golf on my course even though I have don't have much else to do with myself! Guess I'd better get to the cheap 9-holer near me. Oh the joys of student life eh? :p

A cheap 9-holer is far, far better than no golf. Does your old club not have special rates for under 30s etc.?

Have you asked the club if they are flexible and could extebd it for 2 weeks and you pay pro rata? Most clubs arent in a position to turn money down at the moment and may well come to an arrangement for you

Because it's the title of the thread and I said that it expired on the 31st of August and it's now the 3rd of September.

So you were obviously gutted.

Getting back to your problem. I agree that your club should be able to accomodate you, they might want you rejoin one day.

I see what you mean about the "obvious" thing now. I'm going to be joining again next Summer anyway as I love the course and membership is very cheap for students :)

A lot of courses are in need of funds these days, maybe speaking to the secretary could bring you some kind of deal ? Worth asking. If not, then a 9 hole golf course is better than nothing.
