Membership Application

Club I joined previously used to need 2 proposers but if you did not have them then your application letter was put on the notice board for 2 weeks to give any members the chance to comment positively or negatively. Seemed to be a reasonable work around at the time.

And there are plenty of lovely courses in that area. Seems like a stupid decision.

What attracts you to Malone and not courses like Shandon, Belvoir, Dunmurry and Balmoral?

I have only played Balmoral out of them and loved it. Really friendly pro shop and members. Know a few people who play in the others though and they love it.

I am in the process of moving towards the Malone sort of area hence looking about at other options.
Im pretty happy at my current club (holywood) and the commute wouldn't be massive so if I were to move it would be for a better course.

I enquired about Belvoir. joining fee is a bit more than Malone and they seem to have a "teetime for life" system for Saturday mornings which is pretty awkward for new members with young families...

Shandon isn't in the area im looking to move to.

Dunmurry and Balmoral do interest me and I might give it more thought. Played both courses a lot growing up. Im not sure if they are massively better courses than holywood though. It has been a while since I played them to be fair.

Ah very nice.

Yeah the commute wouldn't be too bad but its always nice to be close to the course.

my club has the tee time for life and it is really frustrating, even though I got very lucky and got a perfect time for me.

I played Balmoral in the summer and was impressed, some nice holes and greens were fantastic. Also the practice facilities seemed to be very good.

At least you have options if Malone doesn't work out, but I think it would be a very stupid decision in a competitive market.
