Hey, I am considering applying for membership at what would be considered one of the more exclusive clubs in my area.
I suspect I would have very little chance of getting in but I seen they have recently restructured their entrance fees to depend on age. That makes me think they need new blood and preferably (relatively) young blood. And it doesn't cost me anything to give it a go!!!
Anyway. I emailed the general manager and was told that attaching a covering letter to the application explaining why I would like to be a member at this time would be really beneficial.
So, im just wondering about the approach to take on that letter? It is a beautiful and fantastic course and that is obviously the main reason I would like to join. Other than that what sort of things should I make reference to? I am keen to get involved with all aspects of club life. At my current club i've represented 3 of their teams over the last number of years. I play all year round and get involved in sweeps, winter leagues, board competitions etc....Is that sort of stuff enough or is there anything else they are looking from me?? Like entertaining clients there etc....
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
J
