i noticed the other day a couple of bags with two membership badges on,one for my club and one for a great local links course.is anyone here a member of two clubs,i personally would love to as that links is a really good course, but i personally can't justify the money, also whose comps would you enter, and all my mates play at my current club.

I have been a member of two courses in the past.....one was a muni with a £30 p.a. fee, so it wasn't like 2 fees. I guess it can be worth it in exceptional circumstances.

I was a member of 2 courses for a couple of years about 6 years ago.

It depends on what you want out of membership.

It was not a success for me and the guys who did it with me.

I joined another local club which is built on traditional Surrey downland because my main club was pretty wet in the Winter. All well and good so far,but we found it very difficult to integrate,on reflection down to us.

If you want the best out of membership then you must make the effort to become part of things which is difficult enough at one club let alone 2! We were all committee members at the time and just could not make the proper effort required.

I struggle to get the money together for one club let alone two. Wouldn't consider joining a muni as a 2nd course with the hassle of pre-booking and the length of rounds etc (no offence to muni users just personal choice).

Have to be honest and say that with the exception of some of the big clubs in my area (Wentworth, Swinley Forest, The Berkshire) which are cut through forests and so are tree lined as pretty tight, the majority of the others are all pretty similar so I couldn't see the point in joining two.

Having said that I would consider something like country membership (where you become a member but have to live xx miles away to get a cheap fee but don't get many rights etc) to belong to somewhere I could get to may be 20 times a year or so (maybe a couple of hours drive away - long weekend) but in those cases it would have to be somewhere that is a completely different experience golfing wise and would probably still work out quite expensive

I’ll hold my hand up, I’m a member of two clubs and it keeps me busy. One inland tree lined and the other is links. The main thing, one plays medals on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the other on Sundays. Keeping my handicap up to date is important as I’ve played 9 medal rounds already although today’s was a shocker. I’ll bounce back, no problem.

If I had the money I would consider joining 2 clubs. I love the club I am a member of at the moment but it is one loop of 18 holes so not much use for a quick 9 after work etc (it is a long walk to or back from the 10th). Would thus consider a week day membership at one of the other clubs near me for those quick 9 holes after work or when time does not allow for the full 18.

I'm a member of two clubs, one which I pay £600 per year and the second one I get the membership free, as my wife is the accountant there. Both very nice but I'm finding it very hard to fit them both in, and I tend to play the first one ( paid for ) most of all, as I feel I would be wasting the money if I didn't get 2-3 rounds a week.

I'm sure a lot of people out there would just be happy with the free membership but as I'm not paying for it I feel I don't really fit in, and as I have a different bag tag as well, saying staff, I get some funny looks on the course from the older members.

So yes its nice to have two clubs to play, but its hard work tiring to fit in with both and finding time to play in comps is almost impossible.
