Meatloaf

Massively into his American fantasy sports - he loved baseball. I will have his stuff on this weekend for sure.

I will find Paradise by the Dashboard Light.

Saw him live many times and always a great show and a great showman.
Sad news, yes.

But I have to say that a Meat Loaf concert at Wembley Arena was the only gig I've ever walked out of. The band had entirely the wrong style for his music - almost heavy metal.
And the sound was just appalling. We were sat about 5 rows behind the FOH mixing desk. If they couldn't get the sound right there, I hate to think what it was like elsewhere.

One of a generation of proper showmen & women who knew what the crowd was there for and gave it to them by the bucketload that are sadly slowly leaving us. I am truly grateful that I've been fortunate enough to have lived through this era. RIP Meat, thanks for the memories.

Just the small clips on TV this morning remind me of what an awesome entertainer he was. Whatever the song he just gave it his all and impossible not to stop and listen. RIP.

I was gutted to read this when I woke up this morning. Love Meat Loaf, a proper legend of music. So soon after Jim Steinman as well. RIP.

I'm down in the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun, torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike, and I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell..... and the last thing I see is my heart, still beating, breaking out of my body and flying away......

So it took you three to get out that bunker then?

I bought Bat out of Hell on cassette when it first came out, and actually wore it out till it was unplayable.

All these years later I can still sing the whole album lol almost !.

One of my all time favourite Rock and Rollers.

Used to listen to his albums lying in bed with my first long term girlfriend almost every night.
Still listen to his greatest hits whilst working out in the gym.
Great entertainer
R.I.P

Very sad, Still my all time favourite album that I can listen to while out running or lying in bed last thing at night. RIP.

Such sad news. BOoH one of my all time faves and still listen to it fairly regularly - will give it a spin today.

Aside - I listen to BOoH as a rock version of Romeo and Juliet...

I have a confession and my wife still tells the story which is true.

We went to see Meatloaf in Glasgow with our son who has nystagmus around 1996. We were moved to the front row and had a few beers in the afternoon. Our son and I fell asleep but my wife stayed awake. It was only for a short while though. Suppose “2 out of 3 ain‘t bad”!

RIP Meatloaf

Jim Steinman has to be one of the greatest songwriters that ever lived and Meat brought his songs to life.
Been to see him a few times. Class act in every way.
I remember in the mid-nineties he had to postpone a concert due to health issues. Then at the rearranged concert he got carted out on a hospital bed. He knew how to laugh at himself. Legend.
