Max Verstappen

For those old enough this was Senna esque as he did in a wet race at Donnigton all those years ago
I don't wish to diminish Senna's drive at Donnington in 1993 - it was indeed spectacularly good, and I was always (and remain) a Senna fan.

BUT... what Max did yesterday was possibly better. He achieved what he did in spite of bad tyre strategy. On the other hand, (apart from the stunning first lap) Senna did what he did at Donnington in large part because he had a better tyre strategy than his rivals on the day. I think Max's drive yesterday was possibly more akin to Senna's at Monaco in 1984.

Re: Jos Verstappen

Was on about this yesterday to Missis T. Thought it was a brilliant race overall and a brilliant race by Him and Hamilton who never put a foot wrong.
had to laugh as most pundits and racers have done nowt but slag him off all year for some iffy driving. Thought at times yesterday the decisions by those in charge was farcical. Amazing how some drivers were busting a gut to drive and others wanted to have a cocoa.
Why does Jenson Button spring to mind :) that fella just cant rough it,all goes fine and his ok,the slightest problem and he just gives up!!

I'd have to put Senna's drive slightly ahead there,he said himself he couldnt understand why he drove like that.

It was a fabulous race. I've been critical of F1 on here and to be honest only put it on in passing to see the start and then found it compelling. Verstappen is the F1 talent and will surely go onto be a world champion. Could he do that in a Red Bull? That would be interesting but can't see it

Great race yesterday - shame the No.1 whinger won but the look on his face in Abu Dhabi when Rosberg wins the title is going to be priceless.

And if Hamilton had been holding a 20 point lead before Brazil, I can really imagine he would have been SO keen to start the race ...... NOT.

Makes a change from the Tiger haters I suppose.
I hope Verstappen takes Rosberg out on the 1st corner in Abu Dhabi and Lewis goes on to win.
Cushty.

Got to admit, that F1 had become a tad boring, but I watched the race on Sunday to see if Hamilton could take it to the wire which he has done, but Verstappen's drive through the field was brilliant, more the skill required to keep his car out of the wall when he lost it coming up the hill onto the pit straight and then still keep Rosberg behind him, I bet that was a 20p 50p moment for him.

The thing is shark that both Max and Rosberg made mistakes in Brazil and both got away with it, some through luck and some through sheer skill, or a bit of both. Hamilton never made a single mistake whilst leading from start to finish. Both Max and Hamilton look naturals in the rain.

I'd prefer it to happen on the last lap. Max going for a massive move up the inside to take the lead, takes them both out, Lewis cruises round to win.:D
