Ive been watching F1 now for some 40 years and Verstappens performance in yesterdays Brazilian GP was simply breathtaking.Carving his way through the field to finish 3rd in the awfull conditions after some dodgy tyre choices was a pleasure to watch and a breath of fresh air in current F1.For those old enough this was Senna esque as he did in a wet race at Donnigton all those years ago,I dont think theres any doubt that Max is a sure fire cert to become a world champ in future, cant wait to see him race in Abu Dhabi :).

Re: Jos Verstappen

He's a joy to watch in a sport that often is accused of being boring and processional. I'm getting seriously hacked off with Seb Vettells constant whinging. Seems its OK for him to knock someone off the track but when the boots on the other foot he's on the radio crying about it. Maybe its being at Ferrari, Alonso was the same when he drove for them.

Re: Jos Verstappen

Watchng him rip through the field was great. its a shame that RBR got the tyre strategy wrong.

Re: Jos Verstappen

Great race yesterday - shame the No.1 whinger won but the look on his face in Abu Dhabi when Rosberg wins the title is going to be priceless. Verstappen was awesome yesterday and spot on about Vettel being No.2 in the tantrum competition to Hamilton. Shame Ocon couldn't hang on for a point for the Manor team.

Re: Jos Verstappen

Love when it rains in formula one. Yesterdays race was fascinating viewing. Anyone could have come off at any time. You couldn't take your eyes off max. It was so good they were just telling him who was next over the radio. Brilliant. :whoo:

Re: Jos Verstappen

He is without doubt the next true racing star. Would love to see him and Hamilton duke it out in the same car, they are by far the best 2 "racers" on the grid.

Vettel has become a true whinge bag.

Re: Jos Verstappen

you cant deny he is a very good driver, but he has a lot of growing up to do as a person .
the way he is going they wont find a helmet big enough for his head to fit.

One advantage Max has over previous generations is that the cars are inherently a whole lot safer... Allowing [perhaps] for greater growth in the cojones region... Thought Lewis's drive was top drawer also...

Aside from the previously mentioned drive of Ayrton at Donington in '93... The best drive I have ever witnessed in wet/foul conditions was by Pedro Rodriguez at the wheel of a Porsche 917... Brands Hatch 1970 1000kms race...

Re: Jos Verstappen

Was on about this yesterday to Missis T. Thought it was a brilliant race overall and a brilliant race by Him and Hamilton who never put a foot wrong.
had to laugh as most pundits and racers have done nowt but slag him off all year for some iffy driving. Thought at times yesterday the decisions by those in charge was farcical. Amazing how some drivers were busting a gut to drive and others wanted to have a cocoa.

Re: Jos Verstappen

When you can't see in front of you and you are breaking to within cm's of the car in front I don't blame anyone for preferring to have a cocoa.

I stopped watching F1 some time ago but I flicked over for a few minutes yesterday and it reminded of the scene, obviously a true happening, in the Jame Hunt film where Lauda pulled out of a race as it was too dangerous. I didn't blame him, the camera work was brilliant in that and showed how mad it was, and I wouldn't have blamed anyone yesterday for packing it in. Living is more fun than dying in the wet in a ropey part of Brazil.

Re: Jos Verstappen

Yes F1 is dangerous, especially in the wet, however when it's wet like that is when you see the real talent and ability. Alesi was another rain master. You either got it or you haven't.

And if Hamilton had been holding a 20 point lead before Brazil, I can really imagine he would have been SO keen to start the race ...... NOT.

I beg to differ... Lewis is a total racer at heart... Senna was his boyhood hero and more than anything he desired a Brazilian GP win on his CV... Which he got yesterday in conditions Ayrton was a master in...
