Masters- How much would you pay and Gross Score

Ditto above. I'd certainly be prepared to pay up to £1000 for 18 holes and I suppose the score depends to some extent what tees you played off.....assuming they have members tees of course...?

Yeah, I'd pay an awful lot of hard earned too. I'd be pretty chuffed if I could break 100. Didn't Alan Hansen play it a few years ago on a BBC jolly? Don't know what he scored but he's off 3/4. Anyone know ?

There are about 50 courses I would rather play, but I am sure it would be difficult, I would like to say I could break 100 but couldn't say it with any conviction.

I cant remember which magazine i was reading this month but they reckon someone playing off 15 would have to have the game of their life to break 100 round there.

I've corrected your post for you. ;)

I would pay a fair wack to play it i would think. Some of the previous predicted scores have me confused though. I think a good score would be possible around there am not saying great but i reckon i could get it in the 80s as JOUK said we all have handicaps for a reason and there are a couple of birdie opportunities on the course.

There were 6 amateurs in the tournament and they averaged over 75.5 per round. I'd guess that all these guys would be off +2/+3 on our system which means they were averaging (say) 6 over their handicap. That's with numerous practice rounds, caddies etc oh, and not to mention being very, very good players able to make the right decision and avoid and recover from trouble a bit better than a 10 handicapper. to say you would play to your handicap or just over is very optimistic. However, none of us will ever find out so dream on.

I wouldn't like to play it, i'd make a fool of myself ;)

you mean the course would make a fool out of you? ;)

I reckon i'd pay up to £100 for it, but as has been said before, there's other courses i'd rather play in America... Pebbly Beach for one!

I'd probably score around mid 90s of shorter tees... and a lot of practice on those greens!

25 quid with a 2-for-1 voucher and I reckon I'd probably shoot par or around par.

Hold on, you did mean the par 3 course didn't you? :)

I think having 10,000 fans on each hole makes a difference. if I was there it would be no different than playing Bearwood Lakes, Walton Heath or anywhere else for the first time.

That said I know Augusta better than I know the other courses just by seeing it on the TV. I know that the 18th has two tiers, the 16th slopes right to left and you don't want to be above the hole, you need to hit a raking draw/hook down the 10th etc etc... I'd probably be less worried about Augusta than any other course. If you turn up with your game intact then there's no reason why you wouldn't play to your h/cap in my opinion. On a bad day I can't even break 90 on my own course off the yellows but I wouldn't expect to play badly at Augusta just because it IS Augusta.

I'd pay no more than £150.00 for a round and if it were not close to the masters and the course was prepared for the members and from members tee's I don't think I'd score a lot worse than my scores at my own club. If near masters though forget, prob 100+
