Martin Kaymer

I think Kaymer will be one of the top dogs in Europe for many years to come. He's young, has tasted success and has a solid game that ill only get better. Not sure No 1 is quite within his compass yet but TW won't be around for ever and so who knows what might happen in five or so years

I think if McIlroy had Kaymer's short game then there would be someone who could challenge Woods. McIlroys iron play yesterday was on a par with Woods with its devastating accuracy, but his chumped pitch admittedly out of horrible wiry rough and his lack of conversion of his putts early on will always put him under pressure to knock the ball continually close.

I think people forget how young McIlroy is. He's 20 years old and he's in the top 10, that's some achievement.

He's got 5 long long years before he is the age of Kaymer, I'm sure he will improve x

think he will be a great bet for world matchplay - appears unflappable under pressure and has a good, steady all-round game. will obviously be a ryder cup asset as well

am a big fan and think he could contend for just about anything and everything in the next couple of years. Have to agree with other posts on the overall standard of european golf at the minute too - as good as I can remember.

Isn't his brother brilliant too? Seem to remember him playing in the Dunhill off scratch or thereabouts, and scoring well.

Kaymer's par putt on 17 was unbelievable under that pressure. That's where he beat Poulter, there and then. Not the 18th, his par just confirmed to everyone else how good a player he is and that the title was his to win.

Again the power to get onto the 18th in two just show how much firepower he has in his game.

It'll be interesting to see when they both win their first majors (which i'm sure they will). Most players are past 30 before they get their first major. Thats why I think Garcia may come good in one this yr.

With all the young guns mentioned the future of golf in europe looks rosey. And no-one has even mentioned the T word, gone and quickly being forgotten?
