Macgregor are very under rated, but I had a set of forged 1025m muscle backs that were superb. Beautiful to look at, and if you found the middle, were awesome. Very well made clubs.
They have now gone bust, and the name sold to JJB? and so over the next few years will become another maxfli/slazenger, with the name totally devalued.
I think it was goldsmith that took Macgregor but either way if you buy some now you can buy with 100% confidence that you are buying quality clubs - that will not be the case in 1 yrs time
when i started to play Maxfly and Slazenger were big golf brands..i agree that they have been de-valued/down graded, shame really
no doubt we will all end up with similar large brand kit sooner or later
Yes Maxfli used to be a great brand they were destroyed by Taylormade who bought them to get there hands on their golf ball technology then sold the rest to the highest bidder. Being a Seve fan used to love Slazenger especially that blue and white bag from 1988.
Murph the A10's were after the Rev's they where a brilliant set it coincided with the release of the A10 ball which Taylormade wanted and bought Maxfli for, that is when they stripped the company and sold it off been rubbish ever since.
