Two days before we flew out to the USA at the end of October, British Airways very kindly cancelled our flight and failed to offer a suitable alternative. We had a frantic day trying to secure flights with another airline and, for a while, were out of pocket since we had to pay for the new flights before getting refunded for the originals....

After we got back my OH (lawyer) wrote them a wonderful letter quoting EU legislation and informing them of their obligation to pay us compensation.....

Today we each received a cheque for just under £500! Brilliant -that's next years golf club subs pretty much taken care of!

:whoo:

cool, every bit counts.
i was waiting on a 50 pence part for a car. the royal mail delivered the very small parcel opened. i reordered the part no bother 50 pence. but i wrote a decent letter to royal mail after getting nowhere with what happened to the parcel. i receieved a cheque for £50!!!!

I complained to my Bank (Lloyds) that it took two visits and three phone calls to get a change to my account. They credited me with £70 for my time.
