Spent today in court, well spent most of the morning outside basking in the sunshine , i do a bit of door security at weekends and we were up today re witnessing an incident ..(that we didnt actualy see:confused:)

First up there was a bit of shoving in the pub so we put both parties (of 3)out , followed duty of care guidelines and all kept the seperate and safe etc , there was a row up the town so we are witnesses to an assault that we didnt even see ??

Mainly tho as we got bored outside we went and sat in on a few cases being held , we went through people with loads of previous suspended sentences for theft getting caught again and getting probation act again

People who were driving while suspended so no licence or insurance getting their driving bans extended EH HELLO the last ban didnt work why will he listen now ?

People who were caught with stolen goods in a stolen vehicle getting community service ,

one young boy who has loads of previous for breaking & entering , drunk & Disorderly and a drug conviction getting 20 hours community service to work with the kids in the boxing club he is already a member of ..

I just think the law forgets the victims and where i appreciate it shouldnt always be lock em up and throw away the key i just feel the system is broken and its all a game between solicitors /barristers / judges etc

For the record we sat ther til 4pm for the judge to say he hadnt time to hear a case this big, so its now back in for mention in june to be give a date for september , no wonder courts are blocked up

Couldn't agree more. They fined me £320 in my absence for not replying to a NIP. I had replied and had the recorded mail receipt to prove it. Whilst waiting in court to try to get a new hearing (which I got and won) I heard two solicitors agreeing that a defendant would plead guilty to his FIFTH count of criminal damage in exchange for a conditional discharge. It seems that you're likely to get an easy ride in magistrates court unless your occupation proves that you can pay a large fine!

I'm with you. this isnt knocking the police, its the judicial service.

I got arrested for dangerous driving in 2001. I to this day claim it wasnt dangerous, but hey ho. I was doing a wheelie on a motorbike...

I got banned for 12 months, forced to retake both car and bike test, and was fined £900. to this day, i still see drink drivers who have had an accident get less. No faith in the system at all.
