Lost balls!

I played on Sunday and again on Wednesday and on both occasions, guys who I was playing against teed up with balls with markings on that looked familiar - when I inspected them they turned out to be MY balls that I had lost at sometime. Neither of the men were people that I would normally play with. Wonder what the odds against that are, and, do I lose too many balls?
 
I have been playing with Yellow Srixons and people have been starting to find my errant ones, luckily for me the pro shop has just started selling them!!!
 
I mark my balls with "BAWBAG" written on them, people are usually glad to hand them back!
 
Found one of mine on the walk from the 11th to the 12th last week.

I can't remember hitting it there so I'm guessing someone else found it, lost it then I found it again???
 
One of our older members brought a tub with a couple of hundred balls he'd picked up whilst walking the dog and left it in the juniors locker room. My daughter was delighted to find one of her own balls complete with her own identifying artwork within the tub :)
 
I had one of mine presented to me at Cooden, they guy even went as far as going to get it from his car and bring it back in!... Surreal!
 
Not too sure why I should have been suprised really. Some years ago, and this is a true story, I was in the Pro shop and someone asked the Pro if he had any Pro V1's, when they first came out and were like gold dust to get hold of, and the Pro's answer was "no, but if you go out in the group behind him (pointing to me) you'll soon find some"

Playing with my regular partner two weeks ago on a Sunday he pulled his third shot into the cr@p down the left of the 5th, whilst searching for his ball he found the one he'd put in there the day before and wasn't able to find at the time.

It's not that much of a surprise though, the pair of us are in there pretty much every time we play the hole, so it was bound to happen sooner or later.
 
I've been until last sunday been using some old Titleist Tour prestige balls which I've been loving. Quite a solid ball but more than holdable on a green. Had to buy a dozen Srixons AD333s from the pro shop last weekend as I was running low on titleists. Shall use them up and then Im going to give the Titleist DT solo's a try. Only because I like the way they feel off the putter face.

Would never pay £30 for a dozen balls. But Im a proper yorkshireman, so sue me. haha
 
Sliced a Cally Warbird into the rough today on the 17th, yes I almost completed a round without losing one. Bloody annoyed as it was my best round to date. We all had a quick root around the cabbage to try and find it with no success. The lads went back to their respective balls as I prepared to walk back to where my last shot was taken. Saw a ball in the rough, shouted I'd found it. Unfortunately had to correct myself as it wasn't mine. Upon picking it up I found it was a pristine ProV1X.

Kinda made up for my lost ball.
 
its awful when you're going well with a certain ball and then lose it. i was using a taylormade tp red the other day (found at the driving range of all places) and just couldnt go wrong with it i was 3 ahead of my handicap up to the 12th hole when i duffed into the water before the green which stuffed my round down the toilet. more of pity that i lost the ball because i really liked it and they dont make them any more :( :( :(
