They have slightly increased the price since I bought mine but you can also get £30 cashback from Panasonic taking the price of the camera down to £182 + delivery. It's got HD recording capabilities and the picture quality is simply stunning.

I have the TZ5 and carry it around with me all the time. A great wee compact that punches well above its weight so I would assume the TZ10 to be an improvement, but what is the point of GPS to tell you where your picture was taken? I have thousands of pictures taken over 40 years and I could tell you where every one was taken.

No idea about the battery sapping GPS. The iPhone does it as well. Personally I turn that off.

It seems to be the thing these days. I distribute quite a few PDAs at work and they've all got "Footprint" on it, where you take a picture and can associate a GPS location with it. I guess it's for things like Google...go on there and where ever you go you'll see people have uploaded photos of that location.
