Still a developing story, but massive praise and credit to the members of the public who took on the suspected terrorist armed with knives and a device strapped to his chest and the Police who took action
Thankfully the device turned out to be a hoax, but them and the Police didn’t know that when tackling him.
Very, very brave people.

Assuming everything is as it has been reported, let's just hope the copper that pulled the trigger isn't put through a trial just to show fair play...

A known terrorist wearing a tag who was released from prison 12 months ago being reported. Front page of the Times tomorrow.

I assume that if there’s a vest, be it real or not, they have to assume it’s a threat to life and deal with it decisively.
So, would hope no one will get in trouble for it.

Disappointed that a known terrorist was released from prison early, or actually released at all!

It’s too easy in prison to jump through all the hoops over time and say all the rights things, displaying remorse but only working towards a long end game of being released, only to reoffend, it’s a too often heard story.

There’s no distractions in prison and he’d have been on a special wing and afforded all his rights being woken up at times to pray, special diet and more......

Terrorism needs to have a HMP indefinite sentence with a ‘no release’ clause, you’ll never change these people, so once arrested for known terrorist activities then remove them from society, indefinitely!

If that means more prisons or a special prison, then build it.

I have seen other videos of more shots being fired from a distance , are they still shooting at him ? If so why ? Or was there someone else

and can understand people feeling uncomfortable about the situation

Once retreated if there’s any sign of life (movement) then more rounds are required as they don’t know the vest is a hoax, it’s a text book ‘double tap’ retreat then if the threat isn’t fully neutralised then fire as many rounds as is deemed necessary.

It would seem the man who came away with the knife was a plain clothes transport police officer, so he was able to dig into the training he’s had, but the other members of public with a tusk & fire extinguisher who then all took the terrorist to the ground eating up vital minutes until the armed police arrived clearly showed the great resolve we have as a nation, and that we won’t cower to these murderers.

So apparently the attacker was at an event in the Fishmongers Hall, run by an organisation set up to help re-educate convicted criminals. He was convicted of terrorist activities however judges ruled that an indeterminate life sentence was not fair and his sentence was changed to a fixed tariff.

He was out on licence and being monitored by the authorities however they have around 2,000 of these types that they need to keep track off. Surely this proves that there are some that there is no chance of re-educating, it should be a case of throwing away the key. There will continue to be these events whilst they are allowed to roam free.

There was a tweet from collymore that one of the public who helped stop him was a convicted killer on day release who apparently killed a teenager with learning disabilities

Not sure how true

Yes, saw the same tweet, it does seem to be true. They were attending the same event.

Although he'll never be able to repay the family of his victim he's, at least, gone part way to repaying Society with his actions.

I've read a couple times now it was a classic "double tap" ? On the face of things a double tap sounds like it should be bang/bang but having watched it, that's not how it seemed, it was more like bang.....delay...bang. but what do I know.

Reports now saying he was just there he didn't actually stop the guy (not saying he's wrong not to stop) but he hasnt repaid his debt

On the second video 7 further rounds were fired from a couple of them - it looks very strange where the guy had already been double tapped and it looked like his threat was gone by the other video of him. Hence why the question was asked if there was a second person that hasn’t been mentioned ? Or a lot of rounds into one person
