My Daughters colleague at work received an e-mail alert from the Police.

A Female motorist stopped at a service station on the M4 for fuel. She went to pay and the cashier said to her, "Don't pay me yet, just walk round the store making out you want more shopping, as there is a man getting in the back of your car, but don't worry I've called the Police".

The scum bag was arrested but was let off because he didn't actually do anything unlawful. During questioning by the Police, apparently he was a new member of a gang in London and the initiation to join was to kidnap a female motorist, drive back to London for the gang to do what they will with her and leave her to fend for herself.

That last bit seems unbelievable, but it doesn't really surprise me in this day and age.

So as the title suggests, tell your wives and daughters when travelling alone, to lock the car when going to pay at the services!

Perhaps if our councils employed more public sector workers to help these kids..............

Sod it. Give him community service at least.

As for not doing anything unlawful. The flipping intention was there. That should be enough. Surely?

I was watching some police action thing the other night. Everyone featured had broken the law, and not just a widdy bit. 80mph plus in a 30 zone being chased by the police, banned 18 times from driving previously. He got off. In fact every case featured, the crim got let off with no charges. FGS. What is going on?

Unfortunately this one's an urban myth....did the rounds a year or so ago...if you google it you will see that every now and again it gets resurrected.

Yeh, I recall it was a doll lying in the road and when the woman got out to check someone climbed in the back but a motorist coming behind is meant to have seen it and called the police ....

Nah, am out.

Still sensible advice.

Even if the above story is an urban myth, leaving the car unattended and unlocked can still lead to less serious issues, like a satnav disappearing.

The moon is made of cheese!

Are you suggesting that the moon isn't made of cheese? :D

Back to the OP - still good advice even for us blokes. Too many times I see people leave the car unlocked as they go to pay for fuel. Easy pickings.

Golfmad ffs this one is older than the queen.
Fake fake fake.

Steady on Brendy.

Did you not read where I said, "The last bit seems unbelievable"?

Be it older than the Queen or an urban myth, it certainly gets the message across. The whole idea don't ya think?

Oh, and have a bit more respect for the Queen and give her a capital 'Q'. :)

I wish!! if a female gang member tried to kidnap me and take me back for her female mates to ...... she wouldn't need to hide in the back
