Lift,clean and place...

Ive played on two quality but rain soaked courses this week and neither has implemented the Lift,clean,place rule.Whats the hecks going on at golf clubs these days......

We've just had an email to say preferred lies has been extended due to the bad weather.

Preferred lies is allowed until the end of April if clubs wish to implement it. After that, they have o get permission from the local golf union

That's only for qualifying competitions.

I know of a course that has Preferred Lies all year round and another that has it until end of May - both excluding comps.

Agreed, but if it wasn't a comp and conditions were so bad, there's nothing stopping the OP and his partners agreeing to preferred lies between them is there?

This sounds the most logical route to go down to me.

My local course has it all Year round depending on conditions
So its gonna be on place over the weekend for sure
Its common sense, its going to be very muddy and soft
