I'm afraid not newbie.
If you have a hook it's more likely to be caused by the direction the clubface is pointing at impact, i.e.left or your swing path may be wrong.

If the lie of the club is wrong for your swing, then, it may cause the ball to go a little left but not a big hook. :)

yeah I kind of figured that would be the case lol. Im just kidding myself really I just cant seem to replicate the range to the course.

Im off to play again tomorrow night again, Going to do 9 holes and make sure setup, grip etc is ok and take it easy, as when i hit it, i can get some lovely shots.
