I have been out and about today after dropping the missus off to work. thought I would pop into AG to see what clubs they had. I think someone else popped into get advice and had the same as me.. have you tried these wilson deep reds... Hmmm That was me wanting to be out the door I hear they push these things like mad. Anyway they did mention the mizuno eventualy.

I then thought I would pop into Philips Golf Discount in Dudley (newcastle) which is in an industrial est.

they were great. Help in abundance and guided me to what they thought was best for me without being pushy.

Ayway, they also have a Vector Pro Launch System upstairs. So not having a lesson for a while and feeling I not hitting the best I took advantage. I was was a bit dubious at first being indoors but I tell you what Martin the Pro was great, talked me through everything, although my swing was ok , the looked at my grip and changed it a little which was differnt to what the other pro had taught me but meant I could come around my body better, hitting straghter easier shots, I was so impressed with them and their willingness and interest in you nto just teaching, i would recommend them to all. But seeing is beiving, the spin, yardage change and consistancy was great, also to help me with the type of clubs i should use after discussion, im changing clubs. I just cant believe the differnce one lesson has made to the straightness of my shots and length,. But I suppose that is what they are there for.

As much as these monitors can tell you these days, there is nothing like seeing the shots fly rather than hitting it 6 feet forward in a bay.

The thing with AG which I and many others have said before is that their top earners on commission are Wilson, Yonex, Nicklaus and Hogan and they will always try and steer an uncertain punter towards one of those makes first sometimes even when you make it abundantly clear you wouldn't been seen dead with a Nicklaus club.

Just to echo what Homers said, i think its a must to try your new sticks out on a range to see the actual ball flight in normal playing conditions ie; wind speed, temperature etc.

Going on from Homers post, I've found that DG opt to push John Letters, Adams, Founders Club and Hotblade gear.
Pop into any branch to enquire about any clubs and the guy will always stick a John Letters club in your hand.

I have heard DG have something to do with John Letters, maybe a rumour?
