Length of clubs.

Im not the tallest guy... 6ft 1... but tall enough that off the shelf clubs are maybe a bit to short.. are there any other lanky buggers here who could share their experiences ... specifically if custom fitting has made a huge difference having previously used off the shelf regular iron shafts. thanks in advance.

Being tall doesn't naturally mean the clubs are too short and at 6 foot 1 you aren't excessively tall. As others have said get your wrist to floor measurement and work it from there. Should you decide they are still too short, it is an easy job to get your current irons extended by a decent pro/club fitter

I am 6'0", a friend of mine is 5'5". When we stand side by side with our hands down by our sides our hands are about the same distance from the ground. As has been said above, it's the wrist to floor measurement which is important. Increasing the length throws out the swingweight, unless you alter the weight of the clubhead which, with irons, really isn't practical.
