Hi there.

Looking for some advise.

Been offered this Scotty Cameron Newport 2
It's battered and bruised but wondering if it's real or fake.
Previous owner tried to refurb it himself
It's a bit tarnished but not sure if that's down to a poor "refurb" or if it's a fake.
Any help would be appreciated.

There's lots of Facebook threads on the subject and many other web pages too.

It's really had tell from the photos and as you said, the bodged refurb doesn't help.

The sole looks a bit suspect to me, but I'm not 100% sure either way.

It would have to be very very cheap for that to be of interest. Then again, there are lots of decent examples about needing less work.

I would say that's real from the pictures, just a terrible one colour paint job. It's also in terrible condition. Needs a new shaft, grip and head refurb.

Far better to buy a decent one for £225 on eBay.

Looks fake to me.
It's not tarnished, a thin layer of plating seems s to be wearing off revealing a cheap metal underneath.
I'm pretty sure even run of the mill putters use solid stainless.

I agree with Voyager, the typeface is too squashed up and narrow. I can't see the Newport 2 on the website but below is a screenshot from the 2015 Newport and the font is much more spread out than in the OPs pictures. I would say 100% fake.
