1st tee and pulled the inside of my right thigh/groin. It was agony and still sore yet. Is this a common injury and does anyone know how long it takes to heal as I dont want to make it worse.

Have did a google search and found an article that suggests this injury is a result of too much masturbating, and suggests that you take a week's break - you can play golf however during this week

You maybe misread the post, it's my inside thigh not my wrist :p

depends how bad it is as to how long it will take to heal. minimum i would say is a week, however when I was a kid i torn my groin playing football and I could hardly walk for 6 months.

Typical with me being off for a week, read on the internet that it is quite common in Golf and needs rest to prevent further damage. sick as a parrot now as I was just getting into the swing (pardon the pun) of things

Alec mate,
Iv just retired from playing football at christmas afetr 28 yrs.
I have pulled my groin on numerous occasions and my advice is to rest for a week or two and you should be ok....It isnt a very common injury among golfers i dont think..
When i does feel ok you'll need to do some gentle exercises to get the flexibility back and the tightness out of it but fear not its not a bad injury... It would be a 6 week lay off for a footballer depending on the severity of the injury.

Not good but I guess rest now to prevent longer term damage. Do you warm up at all by doing any stretches before hitting any balls or do you just go out and swing the club on the 1st tee
i think you've hit the nail on the head homer, do the usual arm/back stuff but ignore the legs. Learned my lesson now though.
cheers Kid2, hopefully will be ok in a week or 2, blazing as off for a week.
ps - kid2 at your age ;)

Well Alec i started playing when i was 7 im 35 now and never drank or smoked . I loved training and had intended playing until i was 40 but i snapped my achilles tendon last year in may and i spent 12 weeks in a cast so i retired myself after that......Im loving my golf now....Best decision i ever made. ;)
