Evening all,
Went to the range earlier to get some of the cobwebs out for tomorrow after my disaster last weekend....
I decided to bring the Big Fella with me as some will know i havent been playing it the past 8 rounds or so due to inconsistency.....

My question is can a relaxed left arm at address cause inconsistency in direction and ball distance....
I was fiddling a little with straightening my left arm at address rather than letting my arms relax and collapsing the left elbow.
When i did this i noticed that i hit the ball straighter than iv ever hit it with a driver in hand but i had some soreness in the wrist and elbow after my session which seems to have gone now
Also im wondering if i should do this also with my irons or am i talking complete twaddle.

Im out in the morning for a bounce round with the old man so ill fiddle about again and see what happens....Im bringing plenty of balls just in case :D :D :D

Building a golf swing is like building a house.
The important thing is getting the foundations right.
If you get them right, the walls will go up straight and true, and the roof will be perfect.
Get the foundations wrong, the walls wont be straight, the roof will slope badly and your roof tiles will keep falling off.

The same applies in the golfswing.
Get your foundatations right and the rest will follow on.
So, check your following....
Grip
stance
posture
grip
ball position
grip
swing path
grip

When they are all sound, THEN worry about the roof tiles :D

Get the foundations wrong and your "roof tiles" will keep falling off.

Is that a euphemism for hair?

Thaks Bob..... Im assuming im doing something right so.
Things are starting to take a little shape anyway.....Gone is the fade that i used to have with my old irons.....Im now hitting much straighter and although i pull the odd tee shot im pretty happy that the fade and the slice i once had have nearly gone.....
Im struggling with the driver and im presuming that since i went with the overlap grip that because its draw biased im actually compounding the problem a little...Its the only club that i tend to Pull!

Smiff i hope its not that as im going bald and the foundations definately aint gonna sort that :D :D :D
