I`m after one of these little gizmo`s as i really have trouble judging my yardage, anyone have one/use one that they would recommend as being quick and easy to use.

I have the Bushnell Tour V2 & think it's great.

I thought long and hard about whether to get a gps version or the laser version.

I settled on the laser as it provides distances to all points I need, i.e bunkers, trees and most importantly exactly where the flag is.

It is also very quick. I have it hanging on my bag and can pull it out, take a measurement in just a few seconds with no effort or hold up in play.

I'm sure the gps versions are equally good, this was just my personal choice.

Been looking at the Bushnell V2, just a little bit pricey at the minute, its light and has good range, i`ll probably wait for the price to come down a bit.

personally I dont agree with them as there is enough aid on almost all courses ( yardage cards/150 markers etc). Even if people know the exact distance they have to be pretty good players for it to really benefit. Why good judgement and pacing things out from known distances is no longer a requirement in golf anymore is beyond me, surely its more of a challenge than knowing the exact distance from any point on the course.

Ive played with a couple of guys on a regular basis who use such aids and the 15 h/c player doesnt seem to be any better for it although he thinks he is, however the 6 h/c player who used to miss the odd distance to the green (and I could squeeze in a win against him occasionally if I was on form) now he is spot on target almost every time and I find it much more difficult to compete with him.

Has his ability improved or has it improved due to an aid?
Judgement is a requirement in many aspects of the game, why technology should remove a judgement skill I think is not a good thing for the game.
