Can anyone help please?
I have a pink tinge on my laptop screen down the left hand side which is growing and gradually moving from left to right accross the screen. i think pretty soon the whole screen will look pink. Has anyone heard of this before?
Thanks
Btw its a Acer Aspire 5920 Vista about 4 years old

sounds like screen on its way out Bob, can get replacements for £50 mark fitted, usually local pc shops will give a quote/advice

can sometimes be the ribon cableas they can wear over time of lifting and closing the lid but usually ends up with no display as opposed to discolouration

Thanks .
As it's getting a bit full I was thinking about doing a complete re-install to emty out all the rubbish. That may help.....or not

It probably wont bob, check the likes of www.rolta.co.uk for prices on a new LCD. Although at 4 years of age, might be better being consigned to room 101. If you wanted to prove the fault out, connect up a screen to the external port and see if the problem persists.

nowt to lose Bob

if you were getting artefacts etc on the screen (blocks/lines its generally gfx chip related/drivers), colour changes is usually the screen itself.

similar to old crt's when the tubes start going

thanks for the link Brendy, my acer aspire 6920 screen is goosed, £130 supplied, fitted and returned is not too bad

its still a kick ass lappy and may tempt me to offload my pc :)

Hi bib like others have said its prob the screen but to check this if your laptop has an s video conector and u have a lead u could plug in to your TV to check.
