laptop help again :(

If your sound card (device) is listed as default, you've got the latest drivers (or rolled back to a previous time), then it could be broken. If you've checked the master control (probably bottom right of desktop screen) and volume mixer (right click) and checked the sound scheme....

Can you remember the last time it was working? You could try system restore, but be careful, anything installed since then will be lost (sort of).

Yeh ive tried all that(i think:confused:),i had it up-graded from vista to windows 7 about 3 months ago it was working then,i did mute the sound and when i went put it back on nowt happened......

that was about 6 weeks ago and didnt bother me but im now getting fed up watchin you tube in silence:smirk:......

Hmm, if all software things, ie drivers, programs etc are not the cause then it might be hardware. Its hard to tell without actually being on the laptop itself

This might help http://download.cnet.com/TeamViewer/3000-7240_4-10398150.html?tag=mncol;1 if you can find someone to control the other end who knows what they are doing.

Failing that try taking it down a local PC repair shop, they might be able to fix it in 15 mins if its an easy fix (loose cable or software issue)

Sorry Boys, been building Mrs Fraggers Summerhaus

Try this

start. control panel, sound.

Look at the playback tab, make sure the speakers are selected and not some hdmi thingy

If you change anything click apply

That will be £500 please :)

thx for help, but still dont work:confused:,think lappy is about ready to pack in n time for new 1:temper:

thx for help anyway.....

have you plugged a set of headphones into the headphone socket?

If that works then its your speakers, otherwise it sounds like a problem with the sound card

Would put money on it being a setting

Go back into control panel , sounds, playback and double click on the speakers
make sure they are enabled
