Lancaster Drop Kicked

WC was great success despite hosts Englands early exit, did Lancaster get anything wrong or were they just beaten by an excellent Aussie side and (on their day) still a very good Welsh side, no matter which of those 3 sides didn't make it out of group there would have a coached sacked imo as a scapegoat, that's sport.
Think the England boys tried their best but they're just not quite as good as previous England teams, that happens. The rule about not picking players from foreign club sides just seems wrong, you take every advantage you can surely to get the best players, for smaller nations that would be a no-brainer. NZ might be an exception but they can afford to be it seems as they're so good at present.

I think getting rid of the coach every time you get knocked out of the WC seems a bit short sighted, how do they ever get to learn by their mistakes??

Again, I think the world cup was a final straw rather than the sole reason to ditch Lancaster. His lack of coaching experience had been showing for a while and if he had better back room staff he may have been able to ride that

For a guy that has said " England are to slow, and the six nations is boring".

Well you have just got to love him.

Step in the right direction 👍

Pretty much the only viable option. No obvious candidates in the Premiership that would be seen as anything but a gamble (plenty of potential but no out and out obvious choice) and with all of the other 'big names' backing away from the job, Jones was the only sensible and viable option.

Hopefully an up and coming English coach and be persuaded to learn under him for 4 years to provide succession after the next World Cup.

I am just a bit more excited about the 6 Nations now though.
