They are just 2nd hand Jamie. The price varies withthe quality. Most of the websites have a glossary to explain the diff qualities. Depends what you are after. Pearls are like new and a good alternative to brand new balls

I personally wouldn't use them and would rather get refurb over lake balls. No way of telling how long they have been submerged and no two balls even of the same make will behave the same in terms of distance

Depends which company you deal with. I have had a bad experience with refurbs but very good experiences with two in the last 3 years who deal in Lake Balls - best to go for the pearls quality though.
