La Cala Golf

I've never actually stayed at the resort but have played the courses. They are all good courses, my personal favourite is the Europa course which is the newest of the three courses but I'm sure others will prefer one of the others. I would strongly recommend you play at Santana which is next door to La Cala if you have time to do so, one of the best on the Costa Del Sol. The resort is a bit out of the way & not much else is there so if you're looking for good nightlife etc a taxi to Fuengirola will cost you 25 euros each way. I'll be there myself in August....can't wait
PS the Spa is also brilliant at La Cala if you're into that kind of thing

Went there quite a few years back really nice place to chill but little in the way of nightlife, cab back down to the coast your best bet if you want a night out. The golf is good and its a cracking place to stay for a relaxing time

I've stayed/played there and there was NOTHING to do at night. We hired a car (£75 for 4 days) and ended up driving to the coast every night. The courses are very nice, I'd say America is the best, then Europe and last is Asia (nothing new there then!) :)

The golf at La Cala is excellent, and I would also echo Gazp about playing at Santana - cracking course. As others have said, not much in the way in nightlife aroud there so if you want a mixture of bars and restaurants, then head in to Fuengirola. If you want a really good meal, try the Don Pe in Fuengirola, or head up into the mountains to Mijas village and eat at any of the restaurants there. Have a great trip.

Cheers Gents. We are there for 3 days and playing all the courses once. looking on a map it looks a bit isolated

It would be nice to get off the reservation at least one night, otherwise it's going to be 10 middle aged blokes in a bar discussing club selection on the blah blah hole.

Can you recommend amywhere in Fuengirola for a bit of karaoke?? :D

I can believe you would think I would want to visit that kind of establishment !! :D

The group I'm going with are quite 'conservative', that said it's those types you normally have to watch.

I keep that option quiet until the last night, it's a 40th celebration, so maybe we can get him a special present

You will really enjoy the golf at La Cala, some spectacular holes. As has been said, try Fuengirola for the night life, or if you want something a little quieter got to Benalmadena
