Kung fu keeper

The Thug was obviously going for the keeper, so in my mind the keeper had every right to fend him off or even land one on him in self defence. and if he had stopped there, im sure nothing more would have happened.

However, he overstepped the mark when he started kicking the thug when he was on the ground.

Having said that, it was all over pretty quickly, and as no foul was committed against a player or official then I cant see why the ref took any action.

in my humble opinion, the ref should have done a drop ball, carried on with the game and if the thug wanted to do the keeper for assault, then thats up to him and I hope it gets laughed out of court.

You cant draw any comparisons with Eric Cantona's Kung Foo kick, which was a far superor attack and should
have got High marks from the judges.

over zealous refereeing , interesting how the dutch FA will handle it

I forsee a big fine for the club and the ref will find himself on schoolboy match duty for a bit

Fragger
Also Fragger... Cantona went into the crowd after the fan , he wasnt defending himself , this clown had no business been on the pitch .. i have a couple of ways of looking at things like this ,
(1) if ya keep looking for trouble some day your going to find more than you can handle ( guess the thug realises that today)
(2) If you offer it up & you get your ass handed to you in return , be a man & accept it
