How do you keep warm and still have the ability to swing the club? oop north it's been brass monkeys this weekend, I've been flipping freezing,I've tried compression tops with lambswool jumper and woolie hat, mitts and still been cold to the bone. Any suggestions?

Layering the key. Personally use Underarmour coldgear stuff mainly but a compression base layer, polo shirt, a cold gear mid layer then a windproof jacket (if required). That and by having my own extra layers of insulation lol

I find that manning up and growing a pair is usually sufficient. On a more serious note, as stated, layers are the key. Base layer, polo, good quality jacket and trousers. Job done.

People always take the mick when we go to a rugby stadium for a game and I'm wearing thermal leggings and three pairs of socks, but an hour or so later they're cold and I'm still nice and warm.

As others have said, layer up is your best bet. If you find your jacket gets in the way of your swing, find a jacket you get into and out of fairly quickly, so you can whip it off when you need to play your shot but you can get it back on quick enough that all the nice warmth doesn't leave it.

I recently purchased some Karrimor hand warmers. SportsDirect was selling them for 99p.
I used one packet today - brilliant! They kept my hands toastie warm.
I always find that once my hands get cold then the rest of me becomes cold very quickly.

Us southern softies were lead to believe you northern boys ere hard as nails and only started to think about more than short sleaves when ir reached -10. Is it all bravado after all?

yesterday it was impossible to stay warm! was baltic
today i needed underarmour, t shirt, under armour water proof jacket, fleecy, hat, mittens...

honestly! what happened to that lovely weather in March???

I've got one of those lined lambswool jumpers and it really is warm. Combine it with a UA base layer and polo shirt and it's sufficient for all but the coldest of days. You can usually pick them up for around £45-£50.

I hate playing with cold hands. I can struggle to get them warm, but once warm I'm ok. Odd.

All bravado pal...until you reach newcastle. There a bit nuts upwards from there :)

http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/regatta-osaka-gilet-p148290 (Although thats the old model) Toasty warm core while wearing it. I think GG does a proper golf one but as with anything GG, expensive.

As a southern jessie, I tend to use an under armour base layer, cotton polo jumper, cotton polo shirt, woollen jumper, woollen hat and TM mittens. I find that is usually sufficient without restricting the swing too much or theneed to put a waterproof top on which I hate playing in unless absolutely necessary

I played at Boat of Garten today and it snowed.....i was wearing cord trousers, galvin's over trousers, Calaway shirt, M&S merio tank top, long sleeve cashmere jumper (M&S) and Zero Restriction Tour series gortex jacket (bought at the pro shop at Macrihanish GC and can recommend it 100%) plus a cap and Ping mittens.

I find the mittens are really good to keep hands warm!

I was lucky enough to win a load of UnderArmour gear in a GM competition. Used its all this winter and must say I was cold on the course one one occasion only. It was very windy and hailing and the wind to cut right through. Every other time though I've been very warm - sometimes a little too warm!!
