Kardean (or any LVT)

Yes they do. We looked at it for our flooring, but went for high quality water proof laminate from quickstep in the end. The breaker was that the karndean needs a perfect sub floor base, we have bashed 4 rooms into one, so we have some very slight levelling issues. It was too late to level the floor properly, so went with the laminate and a 5mm fibre board underlay which has taken the lumps out nicely.

Also, was a 1/4 of the cost and the laminate was still expensive!! 65m2 was about 1400 quid...

If it's any help Bob, we've just had Amtico Click in our kitchen and conservatory. They laid it straight onto a ply base. No adhesive needed.

Yes its a special adhesive and there are actually different versions too depending on where its being laid. We had our last kitchen done with Amtico and the current one has just been done with Karndean last week. Preparation of the floor is everything in the finish, either a latex is laid onto a concrete floor or an overboard to a wooden floor with 6mm WBP plywood and then a feather coat on top of that. For the kitchen and the room off it took him just over 2 days to fully prep the floors and less than a day to lay the Karndean. The finished quality is excellent.

In the last house we laid Amtico ourself in the bathroom/hallway etc as were able to get a decent subfloor just with overboarding in ply (as much smaller spaces). We just used the standard Amtico pressure sensitive adhesive (the alternative i believe is a high temperature one), a notched trowel and then a roller afterwards

We had Luvanto LVT flooring put down in the new side conservatory after a recomendation from here. The floor had to be latex screeded first to make it true flat as we had the click together stuff. But it is so robust and quite warm as well...even in an unheated concrete floored conservatory. One of it's main selling points for me was its resistance to temperature expansion and warping.
I do remember it not being cheap though. Would I have it again......probably yes:)
