Was at the driving range, and the bay next to me there was a bloke trying a new driver.

Anyway he took a few practise swings then sets up to hit a ball,

Then on his back swing he smacked the club right against the Metal bars that divide the bays.
OMG what a noise it made.
And what a mess of the club.

Totally scratched and no way they can sell the club.
Bloke was shouting and swearing and I was fighting back the tears from laughing.

But I guess really its no laughing matter, I don't know how he will stand.
As for asking to try the club then explaining what happend.

The demo bay is right at the end of the range, but he just jumped into a bay and ended up
Damaging the club.

shame! these posts need padding wrapped around them, no big job or cost and will save a lot of heartache

I smacked my driver at Woodhal Spa, unfortunately it was ok so I had to use it for the upcoming round :)

they do make these bays to the actual minimum required space imho!

Have posted this before but it's worth doing again.

Years ago, when the TM Bubble 2 Titanium driver came out, there was a Golf show at the NEC.
They'd built a range over the lakes and were using floating balls.
Some range bays were covered but some were open to the elements.
The TM stand was busy so my Mate Andy and me decided to wait until the TM long-drive team came out for an exhibition session followed by a clinic from Monty - the TM stand was empty as everyone was in the stands watching the Stars.
We both grabbed a Bubble2 and headed for the open bays. Unfortunately it had just started drizzling.
A few swings and - Yep, you guessed - Andy's driver slips from his hands, turns end on end a few times before coming down with an almighty splosh.
Everyone turned round - even Monty.
Andy just died on the spot, I just simply wet myself laughing.
Andy went to the TM rep to explain and apologise - he said not to worry, it was the 3rd one that day that had gone for a swim.
They got a diver in at the end of the show and he fished out about 30 different clubs.

I hit the side of an enclosed bay with the first practice swing with the driver (no damage fortunately). Had to move the mat 6" away from the facing side to avoid repetition. And yes the width of bays may have shrunk as have car parking bays.
A friend hit a seven iron from the tee. The head went further than the ball into a very deep pond

All the ranges around my way have more than enough room (Downshire, Blue Mountain, Lavender Park and Maidenhead). Never seen anyone hit the posts before. Damn feel like i'm missing out on some entertainment now

:lol::lol::lol:

i remember playing a sunday medal at callander golf club last year early in the morning,it was a 7am tee off and it was as usual really wet.

we were all getting ready having a few practise swings,my playing partner was facing the clubhouse having a few swings when the club slipped from his grip and flew right over the clubhouse........we were all in stitches, pissing ourselves.

the club nearly cleared the whole lot,i had to go round the back and climb a few walls to recover it,it was about 5ft from clearing the clubhouse.

My brother borrowed a driver from the pro at the driving range, hit a few balls, then on one shot he hit a ball and the clubhead followed it! Luckily the pro was fine about it and didn't charge!
